Our Mission

Furthermore, the mission of the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF) is to serve as the trusted resource for the pulmonary fibrosis (PF) community by raising awareness, providing disease education, and funding research. We are contributing to this global mission wholeheartedly and look forward to what the future holds.

Douglas R. Partenheimer

Our father, Douglas R. Partenheimer was diagnosed with IPF in April 2006. He lost his battle with this disease on January 14, 2010—just short of a lung transplant. Looking to satisfy the desire to raise money for research, as well as raise awareness of this little known disease, we looked to one of our father’s passions and hobbies: car shows. Our father was a wonderful, God-fearing man, who loved his family, friends, and community. He lived in Holland, IN all of his life, was employed locally with Holland Dairies (now Prairie Farms) for 35 years, and was also a 35-yr volunteer fire-fighter and first responder. He was an active member in the Holland United Methodist Church and a member of the gospel singing group "A Joyful Noise"
